Betty Crocker's Cooky Book

Calling all cooks! Okay so you don’t even have to be a cook for this one, i’m not -even though I desperately try to be. I not only love the old fashioned look of this book but the illustrations, spiral binding and easy directions make this one a must have for all you aspiring bakers. The book itself contains over four hundred sweet recipes, not just cookies but you can also find lemon bar recipes, fruit and nut bar recipes, and storage hints for baked goods. My mother was always one to buy the

huge hulking books of recipes that currently sit atop our kitchen cabinets taking up space with their pages packed with complicated directions and ingredients that you’ve never heard of before. Me? I much prefer my Betty Crocker’s Cooky Book, a thin spiral bound recipe book that has every cookie and sweet treat imaginable.

The Betty Crocker’s Cooky Book not only outdoes the competition in all of the aspects above but you don’t have to spend $40 for it either, this one retails at under $20, $16.47 to be exact and it’s just the kind of book that’s perfect to hand down to children or give as a gift to that aspiring cook! Grab this one ladies and enjoy some sweet treats on me!

I know it’s a big ticket item but for the living room there is no item more important to me than the sofa set and for the price this sofa/loveseat/3 lamp set is unbeatable. The leather is perfectly firm but not too firm and offers enough support for those of you who suffer back pain like me. I have chronic back pain so the quality of my living room furniture as well as my mattress are of upmost importance to me. This living room set is not only well made but it’s sturdy and easily wiped
    Plow & Hearth

clean. The set only comes in chocolate brown which might put a damper on it for those of you who don’t care for the color but I personally love the color and wouldn’t trade the comfort of it for anything else. One of my huge deciding factors when I picked this set out, besides the comfort factor, was that the leather is also sturdy enough to take the beating my 80lb labrador gives our furniture on a daily basis. Pet friendly + no back pain + wipe clean + good support = great choice in a living room set!

The Phoenix collection sofa set comes with a loveseat, sofa and a set of three tables for $1899; however, you can buy the pieces individually as well as a chair, an ottoman and a matching area rug.

I’ve always been a fan of Bath and Bodyworks but their recent release of hair products is one of my can’t do without bathroom products. The Mango Mandarin volumizing shampoo is worth paying the extra money for the scent alone. Most shampoo’s will leave a scent for a couple of hours but as the day goes on the scent begins to wane and your hair no longer smells as fresh and clean as it did when you got out of the shower. The Bath and Bodyworks shampoo’s and conditioner’s scent lasts

throughout the day as well as put the volume back in to your hair. The greatest part of these shampoo’s/conditioner’s being Bath and Bodyworks productions is that you can also get matching shower gels, lotions, body sprays and the like to go with them.

The Bath and Bodywork’s Mango Mandarin shampoo and conditioner are available for $7.50 a piece or they can be purchased on sale at two for $10. The Mango Mandarin is available in both volumizing and moisturizing formulas.

So I have a thing for bookshelves, I know it’s weird but I also have a million and one books and there’s no rule that just because you have a lot of books you have to have the same old generic boring bookshelves that every other house has. I really love the Dolce Dark Walnut Folding Bookcase not only because it looks smooth and contoured as opposed to that God awful square shadowed shelving unit you’re used to. The difference in this bookshelf as opposed to the other ones you’re used to is

the difference in the amount of light you will notice in the room you place it in. My shelf is in my office, a room which is small and boxy anyway, if you have a smaller room and are looking for a way to lighten it up a bit try a shelving unit like this which allows more flow of air and light through the room. These shelves are also great for displaying collectible items as well; although if you have a rambunctious child or animal I advise you keep this shelf for books only!

I wouldn’t trade my Dolce Dark Walnut Folding Bookcase for the world, the amount of space it’s opened up in my office space is amazing and the price, at $59.99 is right for me!

Riedel Vivant Pinot Noir Tumblers Set of 2

So if you guys are anywhere as near anal about your kitchen as I am you have to check out the Riedel Vivant glassware. These glasses are considered to be Pinot Noir wine tumblers; however, being me I use them for everyday use as well. It’s so hard to find quality glassware because they’re usually so flimsy and look so generic but the Ridel Vivant glasses are thick as well as chic looking. What I love most about the Riedel ware is that it has a unique shape that doesn’t blend in

with all the traditional cylindrical glass sets you pick up from most stores. The Riedel ware is going to cost you more than your average set of glasses, try $19.99 for a set of two glasses, but they are more than worth it for anyone as uptight about their kitchen wares as I am at least.

The Riedel ware is available from your local Target store as well as through Amazon via their partnership with Target. There are also various other Riedel designs available but by far the Pinot Noir are the best substitute for those bland drinking glasses you’ve had for the past twenty years..
